Richard E. Hatch was born in Utah, but grew up in Gallup, New Mexico. He graduated magna cum laude from Brigham Young University in 2004 with bachelor degrees in both Political Science and Spanish. He then graduated with a Juris Doctorate from the University of New Mexico School of Law in May of 2007. During his third year of law school, Mr. Hatch served as Manuscript Editor and CLE Coordinator for the New Mexico Law Review. Mr. Hatch worked as a legal clerk for the Hone Law Firm, P.C. in 2005 and later clerked at Allen, Shepherd, Lewis, Syra & Chapman, P.A. in 2006 and 2007.

Mr. Hatch joined Allen, Shepherd, Lewis, Syra & Chapman, P.A. after his admission to the New Mexico State Bar in September 2007, and is admitted to the United States District Court for the District of New Mexico.

His practice is concentrated in the areas of medical malpractice, personal injury defense and worker’s compensation. Mr. Hatch is a member of New Mexico Defense Lawyers Association and Defense Research Institute.
