Mr. Lewis graduated cum laude from Brigham Young University in 1988 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and a minor in French.

Mr. Lewis received his juris doctorate from Brigham Young University School of Law in 1991, graduating in the top 15% of his class. He was a member of the Law Review and received an award for Outstanding Articles Editor.

Mr. Lewis was admitted to the New Mexico State Bar in October 1991, at which time he joined Allen, Shepherd, Lewis, Syra & Chapman, P.A. as an associate. In July 1997, he became a shareholder with the firm. He currently serves on the Management Committee. His practice is concentrated in the areas of insurance coverage and bad faith litigation; construction defects; defense of professionals, including accountants and real estate professionals; personal injury defense, including premises liability, products liability, wrongful death and automobile accidents.

Mr. Lewis is a member of the Albuquerque Bar Association, the New Mexico Bar Association, the New Mexico Defense Lawyers Association and the Defense Research Institute. He is admitted to practice in all New Mexico State courts, the New Mexico Federal District Court, the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court. Mr. Lewis is rated "AV" in the Martindale Hubbel Law Directory.
