Donna L. Chapman
Ms. Chapman graduated magna cum laude from Northwood University in 1996 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management. In 1999, Ms. Chapman received her Juris Doctorate from the University Of New Mexico School Of Law. While in law school, Ms. Chapman was active in trial practice and oral advocacy, was on the honor roll and clerked with the New Mexico Attorney General's office and two civil law firms, one specializing in bankruptcy and domestic relations and one in plaintiff's personal injury and employment law.
Ms. Chapman was admitted to the New Mexico Bar in October 1999, and joined the law firm of Allen, Shepherd, Lewis, Syra & Chapman, P.A. In January, 2004, Ms. Chapman-Brown became a shareholder with the firm. She is licensed to practice in New Mexico State Courts and was admitted to the United States District Court for the District of New Mexico and the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals in January, 2000. Ms. Chapman is rated “BV” in the Martindale Hubbell Law Directory. This rating is the highest rating possible for someone with ten years of legal experience. This rating is derived from a survey by other attorneys in the state.
Prior to law school, Ms. Chapman was an employee relations manager for a Fortune 500 company for nine years, where her job responsibilities included occupational medical management, employment and medical litigation management, EEO and federal law compliance, Workers’ Compensation case management, management and employee seminars, training on the Americans With Disabilities Act, sexual harassment, litigation avoidance, EEO compliance and hiring/discharge strategies.
Ms. Chapman practices in the areas of medical malpractice defending medical professionals, insurance defense, personal injury, employment and labor issues facing employers, oil and gas litigation, bad faith and construction defects. She has extensive trial experience in all areas in which she practices.
